Original Oil Painting | The Knife Thrower| Cigany Theater Collection
The Knife Thrower is a large-scale original oil painting from my Cigány Theater at Oz collection — a series of mystical performers who appear at the border between danger and devotion, spectacle and stillness.
Painted in my Studio at Oz with intuitive color and theatrical atmosphere, this work invites the viewer into a hidden stage where myth, memory, and character perform side by side.
At 40” x 30”, this is an immersive statement piece — a one-of-a-kind original artwork, not a print or reproduction — created for collectors of surreal figurative and storytelling art.

✦ Character Note from the Cigány Theater at Oz
In the Cigány Theater at Oz, each performer is more than an image — they are a presence, a story, an emissary from the hidden stage. These characters arrive like fragments of music and myth, carrying symbols of longing, humor, devotion, and quiet mystery.
Collecting a painting from this series is like taking home a figure from the traveling theater itself — a guardian of atmosphere, a keeper of unseen narrative, and a companion from the world of Oz.
✦ Character Note from the TheaterThe Knife Thrower — also known as Henry Hamburger — can split a toothpick from 500 yards blindfolded. He joined the troupe years ago after a long separation, and is beloved for his humor, quick wit, and ability to keep spirits lifted when the road grows difficult.
A fifth-generation knife thrower with a surprisingly gentle heart, Henry travels with an entourage of feline companions, reminding the theater that danger and tenderness often share the same stage.
Thank you for supporting original artwork and the living world of Oz.
